导师为Kaori Sugihara杉原香织教授,博士毕业于苏黎世联邦理工(2012年),2012-2014年在马克斯普朗克智能系统研究所从事博士后研究,2014年拿到日内瓦大学的终生教职。


Project description  

In this collaborative project, we clarify the mechanism of the membrane transport of different novel compounds for the application of drug delivery.  
Many chemical compounds that have been found to have excellent anti-cancer, anti-viral, anti-bacterial activities fail to become medical treatments because they do not reach the right place of the bodies and the cell organelles. This field is called drug delivery, and currently the largest bottleneck in the medical applications of novel chemical compounds. Different strategies such as cell penetrating peptides have been proposed for delivering drugs to the desired place inside cells, yet its mechanism how peptides control the delivery place is not known. In this project, we will unravel its mechanism by an electrochemical characterization tool recently developed in our group. The long-term goal of this research is to develop an efficient drug delivery system based on our mechanistic studies for creating new treatments for different urgent diseases.

Qualifications  

Prerequisites are masters or diploma in physics, chemistry or physical chemistry. Highly-motivated students who are interested in pursuing a research career would be encouraged to apply. Starting date is flexible. The selection procedure starts as soon as we received qualified candidates till the position is filled.
